Can't connect Android phone (Moto G6) to brand new Leisure 470

I set my new Leisure 470 source to Screen Mirroring for Android and then activated the 'Cast' feature on my phone (Moto G6 running Android 9). The Leisure 470 is not showing up as a device available to cast to. I'm holding the phone quite close to the projector.

I also tried plugging my phone in to the projector via USB, selected USB from the inputs, but it says no device connnected.

What am I missing here?
