It's pretty clear. It's not bright enough to be used during the day with light coming through but it works really well in a dark environment. I recommend using the HDMI port because the video quality is much better. You can also customize the color, brightness, sharpness and all that to make it clearer in the projector settings. As for sound use an aux cord to plug to external speakers, it will sound much better! It's a great projector. Hopefully, that answered your question. ?
