Memory card in S20

Does anyone have any suggestions for inserting a memory card in the S20 tablet? When I insert it, I feel the spring tension and it clicks in, but it sticks out from the top of the tablet so I can't close the cover to the slot. I consider myself to be pretty tech savvy, but this has me stumped.
